A survey quietly conducted by the Trump team earlier this month reveals just how vulnerable Congressman Thomas Massie is in a potential Republican primary. The poll, run by Trump’s longtime pollster John McLaughlin, shows that GOP voters in Kentucky’s 4th District are ready for a change, especially if President Trump endorses a challenger.
According to the results, 52% of Republican voters say they would support a Trump-backed candidate, while just 23% remain loyal to Massie. The approval gap is even wider: President Trump holds an 87% approval rating in the district, compared to Massie’s 52%.
The same poll found that 74% of voters support the “big beautiful bill,” President Trump’s pull for strong border security legislation, and cutting taxes, a clear sign that voters in the district remain committed to America First priorities and expect their representatives to do the same.
These findings make one thing clear: Thomas Massie no longer reflects the values or direction Republican voters want.
